NATALINO’S Italian-American Restaurant, might look like a chain from the outside, but the servers will make you feel right at home, and treat you like a regular even if it is your first visit. This is a place that I put on the fall / winter rotation of restaurants to visit when looking for comfort food. Reasonable prices, good wine selection to match with the food, and the room’s decor makes you want to settle in for the night to hide from the elements. They do a good job with getting a nice mix of flavors here on your plate: sweet with salty; and bitter with tangy etc. The HUGE menu has all the usual suspects: pasta; risotto; meatballs; meats and chops; veal; chicken; seafood …. they cook a great piece of fish here …… also love that they have calamari available 3 ways [something for everyone]. Wait – there is MORE, when the server arrives they usually have another 3-5 specials to tempt you with. Value for money delivered with great service.
WHERE: 1523 W Chicago Ave, Chicago IL 60622
WHAT: Rigatoni Johnny – creamy with mushrooms and pinenuts and spinach .. it warms my heart. The Chilean Sea Bass is cooked to perfection get the sauce on the side. The Chicken Cacciatore has won awards. Check out the specials too – these are always good. Our friends that we dined with swear by the Veal Saltimbocca. Dessert, Try the “broken” cannoli, a huge serving of sweet mascarpone presented with broken cannoli shells stuck into it that you use to scoop up the goodness.
