San Antonio || The Esquire

We came across the The Esquire Tavern walking along San Antonio’s River Walk, the warm glowing lights from the river drew us in. It was established in 1933 and claims to be the oldest bar on the walk. Recently it under went some renovations, but thankfully they retained the old world charm.

This was the only place that we came across on the River Walk that was serving real cocktails, as in made to order, hand shaken or stirred, old school cocktails, not the crap that contains words or ingredients such as: frozen; daiquiri; or mix in them. The food was fine, much better than what was available in any of the other surrounding tourist traps, the cocktails are really the draw here. A cozy spot that draws a friendly eclectic / random crowd.

    San Antonio is a beautiful place. And the pictures of the bar looks that much more beautiful here.
